Frederico Westphalen (pronounced freh-dehr-REE-coh vest-FALL-en) is an industrial city in northern Rio Grande do Sul that specializes in metallurgy, furniture, semi-precious gems and fiberglass products. The city also has a regional university.

Notable tourist attractions include the City Cathedral, the downtown commercial district and the natural wonders that surround the city such as the waterfall in the Municipal Park in Vila Faguense.
